Grant Began his piping career playing with his town band Selkirk from the age of 10, he then moved onto competing with the Tweedvale pipe band from Innerleithen, in 2008. After getting his feet wet competing, Grant then moved up the competitive ranks and joined the grade 1 Fife Constabulary pipe band in 2010, now known as Police Scotland Fife. Spending three seasons with the band.
In 2013 Grant Joined the world famous grade 1 Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia pipe band. Grant spent three seasons with the band culminating on the 15th of August 2015 with Grant competing with Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia pipe band when they were crowned grade 1 world pipe band champions. Grant is pictured on the right with the worlds pipe band jubilee trophy.
Grant re-joined the Police Scotland Fife pipe band in 2017.
Grant has piped at weddings and events from a very young age and has over 15 years of experience in doing so. Grant has played at well known Borders wedding and event venues such as: Melrose Abbey, Harmony House Melrose, Bowhill House Selkirk, Thirlestane Castle, Peebles Hydro, Barony Castle, Cringletie Hotel, Macdonald Cardrona Hotel, Abbotsford House, Neidpath Castle, Dryburgh Abbey & Hotel, Roxburghe Hotel Kelso, Buccleuch Arms Hotel St Boswells, Floors Castle, Philipburn Country House Hotel Selkirk, Ednam House Hotel Kelso, Mansfield House Hotel Hawick, Branxholm Park House Hawick, Carfraemill Hotel Lauder and Duns Castle.
Grant Munro can travel all over Scotland and the North of England. Venues he has performed at in Scotland include; Edinburgh Castle, Murrayfield Stadium, Dundas Castle, Norton House Hotel, Kirknewton House Stables, Shieldhill Castle Biggar, The Falkirk Wheel, Dunblane Hydro, Toftcombs Mansion House Biggar, Cornhill Castle, Biggar & the Edinburgh Corn Exchange to name a few.
He has also received a warm welcome across the border playing in the North of England at Bamburgh Castle, Longridge Towers and Cuddystone Hall on a number of occasions.
